The NCPCT is not just another organization; it’s a coalition that unites individuals and entities, both local and international, committed to addressing conflict-related issues in Tanzania. These stakeholders employ diverse approaches, styles, and pedagogies to tackle conflict, but the lack of coordination among their efforts limits our ability to trace their collective impact.
We are here to bridge that gap, to synchronize strategies, and to create a more significant, united impact. Our coalition is a hub of collective strength, bringing together the expertise and experiences of various actors in conflict resolution and peacebuilding.
Tanzania has earned its place as the 58th most peaceful nation in the world, according to the Global Peace Index in 2021. It stands among the top 10 most peaceful nations in Africa. But beneath this veneer of stability, there are subtle yet critical issues that demand our attention. These include incidents of electoral violence, the rise of violent extremism, and the responsible management of vital national resources, such as natural gas, mineral extraction, and land. Furthermore, as global warming threatens our environment, we must also consider how we respond collectively to these challenges.
