What NCPCT Have Seen
The Global Peace Index lists 2021, Tanzania as the 58th more peaceful nation in the world out of 162 considered, and among the top 10 more peaceful in Africa. However, some signals show that prevention of different forms of violence in such a context can still have an impact. Examples on electoral violence and violent extremism (VE) and the upcoming resources management such as natural gas, extractions of minerals, and land issues like the Ngorongoro and Maasai saga, can help to understand this.
Why This Coalition (NCPCT)
There several Organizations, individuals and entities that are doing their best in addressing conflicts issues in the country, local and international, by using different approaches, styles and pedagogies
Due to the lack of coordination efforts and synchronizations of strategies it is very difficult to trace the bigger impact, major achievements and a vivid milestone of transforming, preventions and reducing the risk or the problem. And yet the incoordination of these efforts also contributes to the underprivileged and deprived relationship between the actors and the administration/authority which also contributes to the difficult environment for both actors and the government.
Objective Of The Coalition
Vision
The Coalition envisages a coordinated and coherent working environment for peacekeepers and peacebuilding actors in Tanzania.
To Coordinate the Effort of the local levels actors, whereby Coalition members act as a resource for strategic plan, consultation and center for research and dialogue on substantive issues related to the peace building and conflict transformations and resolutions.
To Coordinate coalition members in advocating for the National conflict resolutions strategic plan(s), legal frameworks, policies that creating greater Peacebuilding and conflict resolutions working ground which promoting religious tolerance, Political tolerance, the culture of celebrating differences in mankind and honoring Tanzania’s heritage of Peace and national unity.
To coordinate and engage development partners and key stakeholders in strengthening coalition member’s technical and monetary capacity to be able to be involved cooperatively in countering / transforming Conflicts based on value for resources.
In FY 2020, 85% of our total operating expenses supported programs for children and youth in 10 countries around the world.
